SUMMARY:The Beach Fossils at Service Brewing! "SOLD OUT"
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT     SOLD OUT     SOLD OUT     SOLD OUT \nJoin Savannah Stopover for the 10th Anniversary Kick Off Party at Service Brewing with Beach Fossils! \nNegative Gemini to open the show. \nTickets are $16 in advance\, $18 day-of. \nChazito’s Food Truck will be serving up their world-famous latin cuisine from 7:30-10 p.m. \nBeach Fossils\n\nThe long-awaited return of Brooklyn’s Beach Fossils\, Somersault showcases a band in bloom. Charting into new musical territory with a refined songwriting style\, it’s an album that captures flashes of life in New York grounded in personal experience. \nThe band’s self-titled 2010 debut established a sound that was both minimal and enveloping. With Somersault\, the group’s first release since 2013’s Clash the Truth\, Beach Fossils have channeled years of experimentation into expansion and reinvention. Augmented with more complex instrumentation\, including string arrangements\, piano\, harpsichord\, flute\, and sax\, the new songs offer multi-layered pop guided by sharp\, poignant\, and honest lyrics. \nAs the band’s first release on Dustin Payseur’s new label Bayonet Records\, which he co-owns with wife Kate Garcia—the group made the most of their newfound independence\, investing ample time in expanding its range both musically and lyrically. While Payseur handled the bulk of the songwriting duties in the past\, Somersault is a true collaboration between the founding member and bandmates\, Jack Doyle Smith and Tommy Davidson. The new songs speak to a more fluid\, eclectic sound\, filled with lush compositions formed by studio experiments and sam-pling of the band’s own recordings. \nOrchestral pop gem “Saint Ivy” shines with plucked strings\, buoyant basslines and a propulsive\, wayward\, guitar. “Tangerine\,” a driving\, tightly wound melody\, rushes forward and briefly leaves the ground due to the gossamer guest vocals of Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell. The effervescent “Rise\,” which hinges on the spoken word of Gavin Mays (Cities Aviv) discussing a failed rela-tionship\, hangs\, like many recent breakups\, in a sense of suspension. The cloudy\, wistful “Soci-al Jetlag\,” bustling with samples of crowded streets\, features the type of candid\, off-the-cuff lyr-ics that make the entire effort immediately illuminating. \nRecorded at multiple studios across New York City\, a cabin in upstate New York\, and even Los Angeles (including the home studio of Jonathan Rado of Foxygen\, who helped engineer part of the album)\, Somersault turns the newfound chemistry between the trio into a sonic tapestry. Due to the variety of sessions and recording locations\, the album was a Frankenstein-like series of reworking and reimagining songs. As the group pieced together different parts in a cycle of creation and cooption\, and built out more elaborate songs track by track\, the process became more reminiscent of a record created via sampling and arranging than one built by simply grind-ing out riffs. The long-simmering album\, filled with breezy music both melancholic and uplifting\, sees the band channeling their voices and honing their craft. \nFlowing between shimmering compositions and immersive soundscapes\, Somersault evokes the laid-back mood of a warm\, breezy city night\, the air crackling with humidity and excitement. These songs pulse and pull\, capturing a blend of promise and heartache. It’s beautiful and lay-ered\, a refined\, sweeping creation that threads together numerous styles\, textures\, and themes into a refreshing\, singular vision.

SUMMARY:Service Brewing 5th Anniversary Celebration!!!!
DESCRIPTION:We made another journey around the sun and it’s time to celebrate! \nJoin us on Saturday July 20th\, for an all day party and raise a glass to 5 years! \nNo cover\, no tickets\, just show up and grab a cold one!  \n\n\nWe’ve got big day planned and will be expanding our taproom festivities to our production area with the addition of a second bar\, game room and of course live music! Farm Bluffton and Big Bon Pizza will provide delicious bites and Aint-Bad Magazine will return with their famous photo booth! Portion of every pint sold benefits our seasonal charity\, Warrior Surf Foundation. \n\nAbout the beer: SBC5 Juicy Double IPA\, Alc. 8.2% by Vol.\nSBC5 is a refreshing Juicy Double IPA brewed with flaked oats\, house made oat milk\, and intensely dry-hopped with five hop varietals\, over the course of five days. Yes… you read that right\, 5 days! Amarillo\, Idaho-7\, Styrian Dragon\, Mandarina Bavaria\, and Zythos hops make for tropical notes full of pulpy citrus\, sweet mango\, and ripe pineapple keeping this summer sipper juicy and bright.  \n\n\n\nIlliterate Light: 8pm\n\n\n\n\n\nReturning to our stage after a packed house during Savannah Stopover\, Illiterate Light is a show not to miss! Spanning the better part of a decade\, the creative evolution between Jeff Gorman and Jake Cochran is far from ordinary. The duo ran an organic farm in the Shenandoah Valley\, toured the mid-Atlantic by bicycle\, and lived in small communities while pursuing modes of alternative education. Their eclectic background is mirrored in Illiterate Light’s sound and lyricism\, floating between postmodern confusion and vibrant\, life-affirming optimism.Formed in the summer of 2015\, the band transcend expectations of typical rock music through their limitations as a duo. Gorman elevates his gritty guitar melodies and honest lyricism by stomping out thunderous synth bass with his feet as Cochran layers lush vocal harmony and explodes with body convulsing energy around his minimalist standing drum kit. \n\n\n \n\n\nAbout Warrior Surf Foundation:\n\n\nFounded on Folly Beach\, South Carolina by combat veterans and surfers\, the Warrior Surf Foundation addresses post-service transition challenges such as post traumatic stress\, moral injury\, survivor’s guilt and traumatic brain injury. \n\n\nThe WSF surf therapy program strive to enhance the psychological and physical well-being of Veterans\, active duty service members\, and their families through the experience of surfing. \n\n\n\n\n*Must be 21 or older\n\nBe safe do not drink and drive. The process is a cinch: Simply take a Lyft to our brewery\, show our awesome bartenders your ride receipt\, and get a discount code for 50% off your ride home.\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Swamp Cabbage Live on Stage: Free Show
DESCRIPTION:The Seminoles\, Timuquans\, Creeks and other native Floridians harvested and stewed the heart of the Sabal palm tree to create a rustic delicacy called swamp cabbage. Rarely served today save for in pine-paneled hunting lodges and fish camps\, swamp cabbage still lingers as a vestige of the “real” Florida. As an inspirational archetype the name Swamp Cabbage was chosen to remind listeners where the music comes from and that it is a musical concoction of southern rock\, blues\, soul\, Dixieland jazz and Appalachian. \nSwamp Cabbage extracts as much music as possible from the quintessential rock and roll format – a guitar\, bass and drum trio. The songs are built around gnarly unique southern- rock sounding riffs yet the rhythms derive from blues\, soul and funk. The verses\, choruses and bridges are threaded together by jazz and classical harmonic concepts that employ Parks’ musical training in those genres. In contrast the lyrics of the tunes are far less serious. Listen closely and take a satirical travelogue through Parks’ colorful northeast Florida upbringing replete with tales of door-to-door evangelism and living off the grid. In concert\, Parks\, a storyteller of sorts\, challenges himself to spin comedic falsehoods of preparation for songs that follow. Every show is unique.

SUMMARY:Slack Jack Barrel Aged Quad Release with Bow Tie BBQ and Anders Thomsen Trio
DESCRIPTION:Join us on October 13th as we launch the first of our Brewer’s Reserve Barrel Aged Series\, Slack Jack Quad. You may remember the Brewer’s Release No.1 Quad we released this past January. Well\, Slack Jack is that same 9.6% Quad brewed with dates\, raisins\, and fennel seed\, but aged in two diferent barrels\, Virgin American Oak and Buffalo Trace Bourbon. Over the past 8 months\, we tasted each barrel and with every tasting\, we found ourselves loving the complexity that both barrels contributed to the aroma\, flavors and finish of the beer.  Slack Jack Quad is avaible in a mix 4 pack\, two cans of Bourbon Barrel aged Quad and two cans of the American Oak barrel aged Quad. Drink them individually or bring out your inner mixologist and have fun blending them. It took a good bit of patience to hold out 8 months with these\, but we are really excited to share the results with all of you.  Food Truck: noon- 3pm BowTie Barbecue Co. On stage: 1pm-4pm: Anders Thomsen Trio
